EFAC Scholar and first-year student at Kenyatta University studying statistics and programming, Faustine, has been elected to the Kenyatta University President's Award (KUPA) assessor's team. The President's Award is a self-development program aimed at equipping young people in Kenya with positive life skills to make a difference for themselves, their communities, country and the world.
Faustine was selected as Chief of Community Service. This is a Duke of Edinburgh International Award initiative and the appointment is a result of Faustine's demonstration of exemplary leadership, commitment, and competence following a two-day intensive training.
EFAC Alumna and climate change activist, Regina, was accepted to the 2025 cohort of the Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme! Described as "a place where vision meets action," this 6-month fellowship provides passionate young professionals with personalized mentorship on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that matter to them, allows them to network with others across Africa, lead impactful projects and build essential leadership skills.
Regina graduated from university in 2023 with a B.S. in clinical medicine and community health. Since then, she has focused her efforts as founder of the community-based organization (CBO), Jenga Jamii (Build the Community): Empowering communities in West Pokot through health education, economic empowerment, and climate resilience.
Pauline, EFAC Scholar and 2024 graduate of Butere Girls High School, has earned a full scholarship to United World Colleges. This network of 18 colleges focus on the rigorous two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Pauline is attending UWC Atlantic, based in New South Wales, and joins fellow students from 150 countries in pursuit of the IB Diploma, while being immersed in an outdoor-oriented experiential learning environment.
