Professor Leah Marangu is an award-winning educator and humanitarian in Kenya. As the Co-Founder of EFAC, she has been instrumental in the design, implementation, and evolution of our organization. Prof. Marangu holds many “firsts” as a Kenyan woman, including being the first female Professor and Vice-Chancellor in E. Africa. She has been on the forefront of education policy in Kenya, particularly in the realm of higher education. Also considered to be one of Kenya’s leading humanitarians, Prof. Marangu has dedicated her life to educating Kenyan citizens out of poverty, and has won the country’s highest accolades for her work. She holds two U.S.-based Masters degrees and a PhD. from Iowa State University.

Nancy and her husband, Rod, are the heart and soul of EFAC. With a successful career in education and commercial real estate under her belt, Nancy channeled her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for making a difference to start EFAC in 2008. She wears many hats with the organization as a Founder and Trustee in the US and Kenya. Nancy studied at Lake Erie College and University of Virginia, graduating with a BA in English and Education. She later earned an MA in Education from the College of William and Mary.

Alan is the Executive Director of the Kenya Scholar Access Program (KenSAP), a college access program serving high-achieving, low-income Kenyan high school graduates. He is also the current co-chairperson of the HALI Access Network, an association of non-profit organizations in Africa that work with high-achieving, low-income (HALI) students to access international higher education opportunities. He holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a Bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Michigan.

Jay Dinkel is a Senior Vice President at Enterprise Bank in Nashua, where he has worked with local businesses and investors to help them achieve their business and financial goals since 2016. He has more than thirty years of New Hampshire banking experience, with expertise in commercial loans, cash management, and wealth enhancement. Jay is a New Hampshire native, graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and longtime resident of Amherst.
Jay has been committed to nonprofit leadership service for over 25 years. In addition to EFAC, he currently serves on boards of Amherst Land Trust, Opportunity Networks and Greater Nashua United Way, as well as past service with many other organizations.

As co-Founder of EFAC, Rod joins his wife Nancy as the inspiration behind the organization. As an active board member, he currently sits on the Executive and Finance committees. Rod’s distinguished business career includes owning and operating the TimberTech Company for over 25 years. He received an MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College.

Tim provides wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals to help them achieve their financial goals. Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, Tim spent 23 years as a partner of Granite Investment Advisors and its predecessor firms. Before that, Tim worked at Merrill Lynch and Montgomery Securities in New York City.
Tim is the chairman of the board for the New Hampshire Retirement system, a former member of the New Hampshire Retirement System Independent Investment Committee and a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire and Leadership Concord.
Tim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from St. Lawrence University.
Away from the office, Tim is an avid skier, hiker and golfer. He and his wife split their time between New Hampshire and Utah.

Cynthia is an experienced Scientist in the Pharmaceutical industry and currently works as a SME QC scientist in the Covid Team at Pfizer. She brings a unique perspective to EFAC's mission, having been born and raised in rural Kenya, a similar setting to EFAC's target students. She has a wealth of experience working with non-profit organizations as well as driving mentorship programs. Her passion in the non-profit space is driven by her path to Smith College, which was only made possible by KenSAP, a non-profit college access program. Her goal is to make a similar journey possible for many other girls like her in Kenya.

Martha Masiello is a resident of Portsmouth, NH and supporter of many local and global nonprofit organizations. Fueled by an interest in making a difference and helping others, Martha earned her Bachelors of Social Work degree from The University of Maine and Masters in Occupational Therapy degree from Lewiston Auburn College. She pursued a career in Social Work and Occupational Therapy, primarily working with people struggling with mental illness and rehabilitation in acute care. She has spent the last 12 years raising her three children.
She is drawn to EFAC as an organization with local roots making an impact across the globe. She feels fortunate to be once again helping others as a board member, in addition to continuing her involvement in EFAC’s Sponsor Program.
