When I think about EFAC, one word always comes to mind—family. Over the years, EFAC has not only been the backbone of the EFAC Alumni Association but also a crucial pillar in the lives of countless alumni. Through its various initiatives and unwavering support, EFAC has fostered a sense of community and belonging that has transcended mere professional connections.

One of the most significant aspects of this “family” is the spirit of collaboration that has flourished within our alumni association. Together, we have worked hand-in-hand on a variety of activities aimed at uplifting one another, particularly through mentorship, job shadowing, and job placements. These initiatives have created a powerful network of shared knowledge and opportunities. Mentorship, for instance, has allowed experienced alumni to guide younger ones through the often challenging transition from school to professional life. It’s in these moments, whether during one-on-one conversations or group mentoring sessions, that the true essence of EFAC’s family spirit shines.

The EFAC office itself has been a valuable bridge to employment for many alumni, generously providing internship and employment opportunities. These opportunities have been crucial in helping recent graduates gain practical experience, network with professionals, and secure future employment. While job placement efforts may sometimes go unnoticed, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the tireless work behind the scenes. These efforts have changed lives.

However, we must also acknowledge the challenges that have come with the current economic landscape. The hard economic turbulence facing the country has made it difficult for all alumni to secure formal employment. Unfortunately, we have witnessed layoffs, even among our own. This has been a sobering reality for many, highlighting that, despite our best efforts, the job market remains unpredictable.

In true EFAC fashion, we have not given up. Instead, we continue to encourage and support one another. Whether it’s through our highly productive WhatsApp chats, supportive phone calls, or physical meet-ups, we stay connected. We share job openings, interview tips, and personal experiences, creating a lifeline for those navigating these uncertain times. This constant exchange of support reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles.

Looking forward, we have an exciting vision for the future. One of our major goals is the establishment of EFAC Alumni Association chapters across different regions. These chapters will allow us to tangibly connect with all alumni, no matter where they are in the country, or even beyond. With chapters in place, we will be able to create localized support networks, making it easier for alumni to connect and provide the type of assistance that is central to the EFAC ethos. This is not just an organizational ambition; it’s an extension of our community. It’s about building a system where no one is left behind and ensuring that EFAC remains the family that it has always been—a family built on shared values of support, collaboration, and care for one another.
